I went through this when I was 12 because my parents moved to Hungary. We lived in a place called Gyor like an hour and a half away. I really empathise with this post, while I have conversational Hungarian I’m so far from being fluent it’s shocking!
I moved to the Netherlands two months ago and I’m starting to learn Dutch. This was a really good reminder that it takes time to learn a language. I keep getting frustrated that I don’t speak Dutch fluently yet but hearing about beginner mistakes and struggling to settle really helped put it in perspective. So thank you for the reminder!
Remelem hogy konnyebben megy a nyelved! (sorry no accents, English keyboard and I can’t be bothered haha)
